Every home starts with a foundation. For this one, it was built on years of trust and a relationship rooted in craftsmanship. Years after their first custom build with Seaboard founder Grant Zinkon, this family returned to create something new—an elevated, easygoing retreat designed for their next chapter in the heart of the Sea Islands.
Set between the greens of Briar’s Creek Golf Course and the calm bend of the Kiawah River, the home sits quietly at the end of a winding lane. Wrapped in NuCedar shake and board and batten siding, the exterior evokes a refined sense of place where tropical textures meet Lowcountry charm. Around back, a marsh-front pool, breezy outdoor bar, and open-air pavilion create a true backyard paradise, blending comfort and elegance in equal measure. An enclosed play area offers a family-friendly balance to the space.
Inside, natural materials and curated design come together with effortless warmth. The kitchen pairs rich green cabinetry with Calacatta Berrini marble and a Brazilian Mist granite island, while the butler’s pantry and bar nook add mood and texture with brass and marble tile, white oak shelving, and custom cabinetry. In the dining room, three walls of windows open to the landscape beyond, layered with grasscloth wallpaper and shiplap detailing above.
Throughout the home, thoughtful finishes and layered textures reflect the family’s personality and rhythm of life. From globally sourced lighting to cozy conversation spaces, every detail reflects the shared joy of coming home, and the quiet beauty of building in the right place, with the right people.
